الهيروديون هم طايفه من اليهود الهلنستيين، اتذكروا فى العهد الجديد فى مناسبتين: الاولانىى فى الجليل، وبعدها فى القدس كونهم معاديين ليسوع. يقترن اسمهم دايما باسم الفريسيين.[1]
وحسب الكثير من المترجمين، فهم جنود هيرودس أنتيباس، ويعتقد تانيين بأن الهيروديين ممكن كانو حزب سياسى سنه ، ميزوا نفسهم عن الحزبين التاريخيين العظيمين فى اليهودية ما بعد السبي البابلي: الفريسيون والصدوقيين، ويتميزون بأنهم مخلصين لهيرودس الكبير.[2] على عكس الفريسيين اللى سعوا لاستعادة مملكة داود، كان الهيروديون يرغبون فى استعادة السلاله الهيروديهلعرش يهودا.[3] لحد أنهم اعتبروا هيرودس نفسه هو مشيح.
يجادل روبرت أيزنمان بأن بولس الرسول كان عضو فى عيلة هيرودس الكبير.[4][5]

In Mark 8:15, Jesus recognised that the alliance of Pharisees and Herod (i.e. the Herodians) was a source of danger to him. In Mark 12:13ff, the Pharisees and Herodians together, having sent a delegation to investigate and challenge what Jesus was teaching in the Temple in Jerusalem, jointly flattered Jesus for his honesty and impartiality, then questioned him politically in relation to his attitude to paying Roman taxes. Jesus did appear (from Mark 12:17 and Matthew 22:22) to have impressed the Herodians with his reply: "... they marveled (εθαυμασαν, ethaumasan) at Him".
