الاحتجاجات إبتدت من يوم 18 ديسمبر 2010. لحد دلوقتى ، كان فيها ثورات فى تونس و مصر ، و نقل السلطة فى اليمن ، و الحرب الأهلية في ليبيا ، و انتفاضة سوريا ؛ احتجاجات كبرى في الجزائر ، أرمينيا ، البحرين ، جيبوتي ، العراق ، الأردن ، المغرب ، عمان ، و تركيا ، واحتجاجات صغيرة في أذربيجان ، الكويت ، لبنان ، موريتانيا ، السعودية ، السودان ، و الصحرا الغربيه.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] الثورات زى ثورة تونس 2010 - 2011 و ثورة مصر سنة 2011 كانت متشابهه فى إنها إتكونت من سلسله من المظاهرات فى الشوارع والاحتجاجات و أعمال العصيان المدنى و إعتمدت على الإستعمال المتزايد للإنترنت و المواقع الاجتماعيه المشهوره زى تويتر ، فيس بوك ، و يوتيوب..[12]

لكن العديد من الشبان الدين يبحثون عن السياسة بعد سبات طويل عن مجرى بلادهم أو العالم أجمع يرون أن الربيع العربي له أكثر من مفهوم ما جعله كدلك لكن ليس بالطريقة التي يصوغوها هم أو يفكرون بها
