Hi there, I think writing in Egyptian Arabic is a great idea. As a Latin European I see the arguments against it and can't help remembering when the first Italians, Spaniards or Frenchmen started to write in their own languages instead of Latin and suffered the same slurs: vulgar language, a bad way to speak Latin... Now we have Italian, Spanish or French, so everyone can read and write in their own language, even though we can't read Latin. Do we need it? Sure, it's part of our culture, but now we think and write in the same language, while as far as I know Arabs all over the world suffer the fact of speaking one dialect but writing in another, with the logical educational, cultural and alphabetization hazards. --نقاش المستخدم:189.217.69.238 04:58، 4 مايو 2009 (UTC)

Why is this page protected? It is about the only page on the entire wiki I could help you with and you have shut me out. The whole idea of a wiki is that there should be no barriers to people taking part

Hi. In this edit, the following was alleged: 'Regarding Wikipedia Masry [the Egyptian Wikipedia], I have uploaded pictures on it even before the English Wikipedia and they never asked me to give them a license, the pictures never get deleted, and I never get blocked! If all the "rules apply to the Egyptian Wikipedia" why didn't the admins get punished for breaching the law like I am?' Is there any truth to it? Would you please refer to the undeleted picture that break the Egyptian copyright law? The user you are referring to has uploaded one picture only & I tagged it on 9 August as violating copyrights: [1], because I saw the picture at some site which claimed the rights for Photo by Dan Kitwood/Getty Images Europe. Font

Hi, I'm trying to setup the ajp Wikipedia test project with other contributors (link) . Currently, the projects uses the default Arabic script, the same one as the one used on ar.wikipedia.org However, it seems that on the arz Wikipedia you have a specific setting for another font and a larger font-size. How come you made this choice? Are users happy with this font? Are there any technical limitations? Why not only increase the font-size? Thanks for any help you can provide. Shakshouka dispute

hi, i am not sure if this is the right place to mention this but on the shakshouka article, I tried to include an edit stating that the dish is not only Maghrebi but north African as it is part of the Egyptian cuisine, another editor refuses to believe that it to be true even after I provided a source. And initially I didn't know what edit warring was until he sent me a warning and now he got another editor to revert the change and I'm not sure what to do know. He even went as far to say that the Egyptian roots in the history part of the article should be removed, which is crazy to me. I just find it culturally disrespectful as I am part Egyptian.
