Ancestry.com has full scans for the years 1930 and 1931, which did not have the portrait.[3][4] Thus the portrait may be in the Technique yearbooks for the years 1932-1937 inclusive. Ancestry.com has full scans for the years 1932, 1933, 1934, 1936, all of which have the portrait.[5][6][7][8] Thus the portrait may or may not be in the yearbooks for 1935 and 1937. Thus renewals must be checked for the years 1959-1966 inclusive.[9] "Part 1: Books and Pamphlets" and "Part 2: Periodicals" were manually checked for 1959-1966 inclusive using the queries "Massachusetts Institute of Technology" and "Technique" in Archive.org. No renewals were found. Thus the copyright for the yearbooks for 1932-1937 inclusive were not renewed, indicating that the copyright for the portrait has expired.
