رئيس الجمهورية هو لقب يستخدم لرؤساء الدول و/أو رؤساء الحكومات فى البلاد ذات الشكل جمهوريه حكومه .

فى أغلب الأحوال يتم انتخاب رئيس الجمهورية إما:

  • بالاقتراع العام المباشر (من قبل كل الناخبين)، أو
  • بالاقتراع غير المباشر ، أو
  • على ايد برلمان أو واحد من مجلسيه ، أو
  • على ايد هيئة انتخابية ممكن تعيينها بنفسها.
