تم إلقاء القبض عليه عدة مرات من السلطات المصرية بتهمة التبشير وصدرت تقارير مجمع من الأمم المتحدة به بيانات عن محمد وجدي بخصوصه من الأمم المتحدة ومنظمة العفو الدولية
